Nasmyth's membrane

Definition

Synonym: Cuticula dentis, dental cuticula, primary enamel head, Nasmyth's membrane. Residual substance of the enamel-forming epithelium. For freshly broken teeth, 0.1-0.5 microns thick.

Function

Resistance to external influences, is quickly abraded, replacement by "acquired pellicle"
