Classification of the Partially Edentulous Arch
Kennedy class I: bilateral edentulous area (with or without gaps in the anterior region).
Kennedy class II: one-sided edentulous area (with or without gaps in the anterior area).
Kennedy Class III: A unilateral edentulous area with natural teeth both anterior and posterior to the area.
Kennedy class IV: Edentulous area located to the anterior of the remaining natural teeth.
Wisdom teeth are not included! and Modifications
( Mod 1: plus one gap, Mod 2: plus several gaps, Mod 3: remaining teeth)
Above approx. 6 gaps = remaining teeth=Mod 3
