Definition
Synonym: caries sicca.
It is a tooth decay that has become static and begun to remineralize. Arrested caries are usually observed on the lingual or labial surface of the tooth and is usually hard and shiny. The brown color can also be seen in the early form of the carious lesion, which has changed into Arrested caries.
